This section provides information about the activity of the AEI Turismo Innova Gran Canaria and the management of the public funds received. It complies with the Spanish national Law 19/2013 and the Canary Islands Law 12/2014.

A · Institutional information

Name: Innovative Business Association Turismo Innova Gran Canaria (AEI).

Nature: Non-profit association under Law 4/2003 of 28 February on Associations of the Canary Islands.

Incorporation: 2009. Accredited as an AEI by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR).

Management: Since 2015, management has been carried out by the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Gran Canaria.

Registered office: C/ León y Castillo, 24 · 1st floor · 35003 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

B · Organisational information

The cluster is organised through a General Assembly (all members), a Board of Directors elected every four years and an Executive Committee. The presidency is held by the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce.

Current membership composition:

  • 90+ companies in accommodation, active tourism, health, events and technology.
  • 5 public institutions: Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce, SPEGC, Gran Canaria Tourism, INFECAR and the ULPGC.
  • 1 sector association: Activa Canarias (active tourism, ~20 companies).

C · Economic and budgetary information

The annual accounts, balance sheet and economic report are published in the Downloadable documents block once approved by the General Assembly. The main sources of funding are member fees and the competitive grants obtained.

The cluster has been a beneficiary of the following grants and subsidies, all published in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS):

  • ERDF Canary Islands 2014-2020 · Visit Gran Canaria Ticket project (80% co-funding, ACIISI).

The contracting profile of the AEI Turismo Innova Gran Canaria is published in this section in compliance with Law 9/2017 on Public Sector Contracts. The AEI is not a Public Administration but, as it receives public funds, it publishes minor contracts with an estimated value above €5,000.
